I live in a 'rural' area (county land as apposed to the street next to mine which is city.... ) There is someone who plays a thumping stereo 24 hrs a day nearly 7 days a week. (I say nearly because it was off when we didn't have power due to the hurricane...) I've called the sheriff's dept several times over the past month, but for some strange reason they can't hear it....to me it sounds like it's next door (IT'S NOT anywhere near my house....I've checked with all the neighbors) and the little boy (13/14 yrs old) across the street hears it, but my husband and no one else can hear it. I KNOW I'm not nuts (yeah...yeah....go ahead and say it...) It gives me a headache and I can't sleep, 'cause when I lay my head down all I hear is a thumping noise...NO IT'S NOT my heart, ac, hammers, the highway, etc....Anyone else hear things no one else does ??? especially noises far away ??? I can hear high-pitched things when no one else can (maybe I'm a dog? No, don't answer that!) But I don't think I hear far-off things when no one else can. Maybe you're related to Lindsay Wagner? Jessica photos.yahoo.com/greendragondesigns

You're not nuts. My hubby can hear low pitched sounds that I don't hear. Like a the sound of a train on tracks that are MILES away from us. He can hear it way before I can. Especially on cloudy days for some reason. Sometimes he'll ask me if I hear the bass sound of a car stereo. Sometimes I can hear it after he mentions it but didn't notice it before. Hubby can't hear high pitched sounds that I can hear. One day my son told me that the beeping sound of my sewing machine buttons was driving him crazy. Hubby said, "It makes sounds?" He didn't believe us until he tried pushing the buttons without me looking and telling him when it beeped. |

I don't know if you have the same problem as I do. It started with a terrible ear infection. My ear drum was ready to burst. Now the doctor says the ear channel or what ever it is called is collapsed. Instead of high pitch I have like a drumming sound. He told me Sudafed should help it. |

So when I was in the kitchen part of our house I was constantly hearing this like muted bass drum thumping sound . I thought probably my husband had left his computer on with music. (He does this a lot) but when I checked it was never on. Figured out when he re did the roof last year he put in the whirly type vents and when they spun they were making the noise. I truly thought I was losing my mind. Sher My website
