Hi Evreyone, I'm new here and am new to sewing. My husband bought me a sewing machine as an early Christmas present and after stitching up several pillowcases to start, I want to try making baby projects. So my question is, what do you think of the Kwik Sew- Sewing for Baby? Has anyone actually purchased the book and made stuff from it and is it really beginner friendly? I wanted to hear some more opinions about it before I go ahead and purchase it. Thanks in Advance!! |

I love my Kwik-Sew books. Very simple and easy to follow directions. The one thing that may stump you is that you do not cut out the pattern. You trace it off the master pattern onto tissue paper, tracing paper, Dr. office paper or whatever you can get your hands on. My personal favorite is tissue paper. You can get a good sized package of it at Dollar Tree and I think it is plenty big enough for the pattern pieces in the Sewing for Baby book.

I liked the patterns as well, all except for the one pce. sleeper. That I messed up somehow. I had snaps all over the place, LOL.

I think all the books are great! I find they fit more true to size as well for kids. I would recommend it. |

My Sewing for Baby book will be worn out if I have any more babies. I don't know what I would do with out it. It is definately a great group of patterns and instructions for a beginner as well as for those of us who have been at this for a while. I wasn't terribly inpressed with the sleeper either, but all of the other patterns are great. I ended up using the sleeper with zipper pattern that Kwik Sew has. I think I have made 6 or sew. Have fun! Melanie

Hmm, I should try that one to see if it turns out better. They make nice gifts. Thanks Melanie T.
