This is the first time I have tried to make one. It is on a panne velvet dress (maybe the material is the problem?) Well, I followed the pattern but the placket doesn't want to lie flat against the dress. I have showed it to my sister (who is quite talented unlike me :p ) and she thinks I did it right, but it may be the material that is the problem. I can take a pic of it to show you. Just give me a few seconds. The dress is so cute, but this placket is ruining it.

Off the top of my head, I bet it is the fabric, too spongy to really lay flat. Why not try some satin in the same color, that might be easier.

I would have suggested an alternate material for the inside of the placket.
