Hi. A couple of months ago, I brought 2 milk crates full of lace at a garage sale. Why, I don't know. I don't have any little girls to sew for and I'm not a lacey person. Can anyone give me any suggestions on what to do with it. Thanks. Carolyn

Sell it on e-bay, make up some lace-edged curtains or perhaps some Christmas ornaments, maybe a tree skirt with it.

Nah, not really. Come on girls, what can you do with yards and yards of lace?

Well I have seen neck roll pillows done with lace, teddy bears that looked really sharp, and being as xmas is coming you could always do some stuff for giving as gifts. Sweatshirt jackets with lace, jackets, pillows, put lace inserts down the side seams of your jeans. Start getting ready for valentines day, say for your female relatives or freinds. |

Is this wide or narrow lace?

You can add lace to the edge of your pillow cases or trim for a bed skirt. You can use it for crazy quilts or memory quilts. You can even add to towels. |

The lace is wide, narrow and everything else. Some are two layer and three layers. There is white, off white, and other colors. There is one roll that says there is 300 yards. I much have about 1000 yards.

You could always make some pretty scented sachets...great around the house(in the bathroom, in the closets, in dresser drawers). If you celebrate Christmas, you could make some pretty ones filled with Christmas potpourri, to put on the tree, to give as gifts, or to attach to gifts as a little 'extra'. I love handmade ornaments, and I think lacy ones would be so pretty. I also saw a toilet paper holder made of lace and ribbon, that was very simple, but pretty. Take care,

I was thinking the same thing as Linda, LOL. You could decide what you'd want and list it on the forum's for sale area. It might help to know approximately how much you've got and if it's all white or some is ivory or whatever. Making and selling Barbie clothes like I do, I'm always in the market for lace!

One year I made angels with the wide lace. Gather it on one edge and tie it around a styrofoam cone about 2 inches from the top. Buy a porcelin head, sholder and hands and put the head on the top of the cone-you have to cut the cone down a little and glue well. roll, lace around the hands to make arms, gather another length of lace, gather it about 1 inch down from the edge and tie it to the cone to hide where the head is glued on and attach the arms. Sew on a pair of wings and add a halo-flat disc-to the head and put a long braid as a waist tie to cover the gathers and you have an angel. If you use a cone made out of firm plastic you can make it a tree topper. Uses about 1 yard of 4 inch wide lace.
