First of all, THANK YOU to the many ladies who helped me with tips for my "sewing with knits" question. NanCee, sewingrandma, skye, sewhappie, Libby, Sandi, bunzino... your tips have helped and I am trying to practice to get perfect. I am trying to make a sleevless boatneck top for my daughter. I am using my own pattern and it is not working out well! Does anyone here have a recommendation for a good stretch-knit boatneck pattern? Even if it is for an adult I am confident I can modify it. By "sleeveless boatneck" I mean where the shoulders are bare - it's like a t-shirt body with a band around the top. There's sort of a diagramhere at t-shirt surgery (http://www.livejournal.com/community/t_shirt_surgery/1538716.html). Maybe "boatneck" isn't the right word, but I can't think of any other term! Please help! see the mundane life of a housewife.

I think it's called a portrait collar. Here's a vogue one for women: http://store.sewingtoday.com/cgi-bin/voguepatterns/shop.cgi?s.item.V7720=x&TI=20011&pageNum=4&M=&UK=34102901 You could probably make the top part out of knit. I know you can do it! Jessica photos.yahoo.com/greendragondesigns

Blackie, I checked the Big 4 pattern companies and KwikSew for the style that you wanted but did not find it. It may be a little too adult for children. Sorry Happy Stitching! Marty It takes one moment to change a life.
