A friend of mine is looking for patterns for exotic dancewear. I did do a search on google but didn't come up with pattern sources yet. She is looking to sell them and won't be doing an actual fitting so adjusting a pattern from something else won't be really feasible. Does anyone have a line on patterns? There must be something out there somewhere.

I think we're going to need a better description of what you need. I think there are a few websites that have harem girl outfits, but for some reason I don't think that's what you're looking for.
I wouldn't even have a clue as to where to start looking, but my best suggestion is to try looking up either harem girl outfits or maybe gypsy outfits.
Another thing to find out, I don't make stuff to sell, but is it a copyright infringement in way to sell what you've made from a storebought pattern?

No she is not looking for harem or gypsy outfits. As to copyright infringements, she needs the patterns for sizing but after that it would be how ever and whatever she wanted to use for fabric(or lack there of) ect. I was almost afraid to put her request out here as I didn't know what kind of reaction we would get. Actually for a better description (and I shudder to say this) is stripper clothing.

Type in The Costumers Manifesto in Search. This web site has about any costume you can think of, or the link to one. It kind'a odd sounding, but it's got some neat suff.

That's what I thought it might of been, and some of the harem girl and belly dancing outfits MIGHT (and that's a really big might) work for what you're looking for. Or, at least that's what I thought when I was trying to find ideas to accessorize my gypsy outfit (some of the belly dancing gear is rather ..... not there).
Okay, I've never made anything to sell before, so I wasn't sure how that would work.

WW,
Once, I made an Elvis Costume for a program at work. The girl who wore it showed it to a neighbor of hers. It was Blue Satin.. The neighbor sent me a message and the message was..... She was a stripper and wanted to know if I would make her some outfits. She would furnish patterns and all instructions because you could not buy them anywhere.. That was her message to me..She also said she hoped she didn't offend me by asking me.. I sent her a note and thanked her for her confidence in my work, but told her I only sewed for a hobby and therapy and did not have time for a third part time job.. I told her how to find someone to sew and suggested she get samples of their work.. She sent me a message later and thanked me for the suggestions and said she found someone.. I believe it is the fasteners that are crucial to strippers, not so much the patterns..

Don't you mean the unfasteners??

Saw your post and figured I'd reply. I was a dancer for 10 years, retired a couple years ago. Most costumes come from sellers that frequent the clubs. Most costumers make their own patterns. 90% of the dancewear is made from different grades of spandex, with a lot of elastic at the edges. The better quality stuff is made with the elastic encased in the edges. Fasteners are usually the kind that are brought together then lock snapped into place. The costumes must be durable as they get thrown around the stage a lot, stepped on, crammed into bags, and washed a lot. I've searched for patterns and haven't been able to find much. I usually just tore apart something I already had and used the old stuff for patterns and made my own stuff. Good luck
