My threading instruction say to 1. Draw the end of the thread around the upper thread guide, 2. while holding thread near the spool, draw the end of the thread down around the check spring holder, 3. firmly draw thread up from right to left over take up leven, and down into take up lever eye, then slide thread behind needle bar thread guide on the left, then thru needle front to back. This is from the manual and, of course, comes with illustrated instructions. I follow these instructions to a "T". However, once I start sewing the thread slips out of the upper thread guide and slides into the check spring holder area. I have to stop and start all over again! I'm getting very frustrated with this. Thanks for any help/feedback/suggestions. Donna in CA |

Hope I can help. I have my manuel and machine here so maybe we can do this together. First is your spool to tight against your machine. Release it a bit, slide your cover so that your spool pulls easy. Is the thread unwinding from the bottom of the spool, not the top. I have never held my spool while threading my machine. I just hold the thread by the thread quide. The next step is simple enough, just don't force this part. When you get to the lever slide your thread from back side till it gets to the eye. It must sit in the eye. Thread behind needle bar. Thread needle. Now pull thread gently, it must pull easily, if not you are catching something somewhere. Check your tension button, maybe it is too tight, should be around 4. I hope this helps, it can be frustrating |

Just thought of something. Spools have a small cut in it to hold the thread. Is this cut at the back of the spool. It sound to me like something is grabbing and it might be as simple as this. |

Are you raising your pressure foot after the needle is threaded and pulling out enough thread behind the needle? |

I want to thank everyone for the great responses. I have printed everything out. I haven't had a chance to try anything to see if I can remedy this. Life has gotten in the way. Our cat Chloe, 21 years old, became very ill and had to be put to sleep. She is in kitty heaven now, but we are still grieving and missing her. The very next day my 82 yr old aunt suffered a major heart attack. She is in intensive care but we are praying. Keep us in your thought and prayers. When things settle down I will get back to my sewing (my salvation) and see if I can figure this out). Hugs .... Donna in CA |

Donna, I am so sorry for your little Chloe and your aunt taking ill. My daughter has a cat named Chloe and I had a cat that lived to be 25 yrs old that had to be put down. She was a blue and white persian named Jett. I hope your aunt recovers and things go better for you too. God bless. |
