Just went to JoAnn this morning and they have their batting on sale for $0.99 a yard. Just thought all you quilters might like to know.

I buy from Jo-Ann's a lot but be careful with their batting. Good for some things but, if your useing it for a nice quilt I won't buy it. You need a bonded batting for that. Warm & natural is fine if you want a flatter guilt or one that looks older when it's washed. What they sell on the rolls by the yard is not bonded. Most of the packaged ones isn't bonded either. If the batting isn't bobded it will beard. That means pokeys will come through your quilt or whatever in time. Just thought someone might not know this. |

I swear I learn something new everyday on this board. I didn't even think about it being bonded. I just spent the whole day cutting it out to make fabric books and such. Hopefully it will hold up.

Gina, I take it your making fabric books for children ? If so I wouldn't worry about that batting. It takes awhile to get the bearding effect. I was mainly talking about doing nice quilts. It does ok for craft type items as a rule. Plus hope no one thought I was talking bad about Jo-Ann's, I sure keep our store in business here. Theresa |
