I'm currently using the White 3300 Embroidery only machine which is very similar to the Brother PE150. My largest embroidery field size is 4x4 and of course I have a design that is larger then that. The software I'm using is Embird - can anyone assist me in how to best sew a split this design? I've tried using the instructions provided by Embird but to no avail, my design didn't even up! PLEASE HELP!! TIA
Tracy

If its not too complicated, you can most times split pretty much in the middle.
If you are splitting for the 4x4 area only:
Section out the design and save each part individually. After that, print out templates for each part and place them together on the fabric and then mark your fabric for placement of each part preferably in different colors if you can, once the fabric is marked for your centers and edges you should be able to rehoop and line it up just right. This takes a little practice but it is fairly easy to do.
If you are splitting for a larger hoop:
There are 3 positions you can split into and you will see this indicated in Embird by three different colored areas in editor. For 5x7 you will use the first and third positions and for a 6x10 you will use all three positions. Even if your design is for 5x7, still set your initial hoop size for the 6x10. This frame size is where you will see the red green and blue areas. Center your design BEFORE you make the split. The red and blue overlap so that is a mutual stitching place and would be where you would make the split. Then when you have split and merged it back together, you would reset the hoop size to the 5x7 and save it. Then on the machine you would simply start in the top or bottom hoop position depending on which section you have set to stitch first. The 5x7 only has one position to sit on the machine so you will see the machine automatically shift up or down depending on which half you saved to stitch first. The split will be fairly easy if you dont shift the pieces up or down or sideways. It will merge back together inline.
If you are making one split for a 6x10 frame, still make it in the center and do everything as for a 5x7 split except you will position the hoop so that it starts in the #1 position (top of the hoop) or #3 position (bottom of the hoop. Embird will ask you what position you want to save it to when you do this.
I hope this is as clear as mud for you.
