We'd love to have you join us in our monthly fat quarter swaps! Per Carman, the swap hostess, the guidelines are as follows:

Here are the guidelines for the fat q swap. this is a decentralized swap, meaning that i send you the list of addresses and then you send to everyone on the list the fat q in the theme for that month. material is 100% cotton and approx 18 X 22 with mail date no later than the last week of the month. i post the next months theme about a week before in a new "thread" and that is where the ladies let me know if they are involved that month or at my e-mail addy. you must let me know every month via this way.

Yes, the fat quarters are mainly used for quilts - most of us that participate in the fq swaps are quilters. Every month Carman picks a theme that the fq's must relate to (ie, November is animals - all fq's must be animal related).

And another question would be approx. How many people to a list?
It really varies by month, depending on how many people want to participate. Usually 12 or less swappers.

What kind of animal prints ? I 'm not sure whether I should pick juvenile prints, farm animals, safari one's, Noah's ark stuff, alldog/cat stuff, just their tracks, just their hides/skins? I just don't want to disappoint anyone with my choice .See, I am making this way too hard aren't I ? Up here in Saskatchewan , it's cold today & maybe I'm having a brain cramp !! Lisa P

try stay away from the really juvenile type prints, but if it reminds you of an animal then it passes for an animal  it is balmy and the snow is melting here next to you in Alberta, but they say more snow in the works for next week :re:

Oh wait i did start one a while back with all the left over scraps from fabric i used to sew up my granddaughters nursey ensemble. I am going to learn hwo to do this if it kills me! lol I am open to any suggestions on this project!

So to you who quilt this might be a dumb question...

How many fat q's do you send to each person? Do they come in a standard bunch? Do you buy the fabric then cut the fat q's?

Just thought I'd jump in hear and say that you don't have to be a quilter to enjoy fat quarters. They are great for fabric bowls and small crafts. There are books out there that tell you everything you can make with fat quarters. The possibilities are endless.

you can buy fat q's but i think most of us buy the material and cut it, i know here they charge a bit more if it is pre-cut. it is a half meter of fabric cut in half down in the middle, and every person on the list gets 1 fat q.
