I just picked up a lovely plaid print fabric that I think would look best cut on the bias. I've never made something on the bias before, so I was wondering...must I use a pattern that is specifically designed for "bias cut", or would a regular skirt pattern work okay? |

I think a pattern calling for a bias cut works best, but I'm not positive about that. Does anyone else have an opinion here?

I think it might be tricky to use one not designed for bias. Some simple designs would probably hang right but I'd just use something designed for the bias. Dorothy |

Although I think that it would probably be fine and the fuller the a-line the better (don't think I'd try a straight skirt because of warp), I think that with the price of patterns compared to the price of fabric and your time wouldn't be worth the risk. I'd just invest in a pattern I think.
