I love the look of princess seams. Alas, I am a D or DD cup, and most commercial patterns are sized for a B cup...so I haven't found one that fits me quite right (if I cut it big enough for my breasts, it gapes at the waist and falls off my shoulders!)

Does anyone know of an online or print reference for adapting this kind of design??

My Kwik Sew swimwear and activewear book talks about how to alter a princess cut swimsuit. Not sure if that would help you or not.

HeatherL think about investing in the book Fit for Real People by Patti Palmer and Marta Alto. It gives indepth instructions and pictures/diagrams for altering both regular patterns princess cut patterns for larger bust adjustments without having the "gaposis" problem at neck and waist, etc. I have the same problem and religiously use this book for pattern alterations, particularly in dresses.

There are several books on the market which show how to do a full bust adjustment (FBA). Fit for Real People is one of my favorites. It has detailed instructions with photos to help one understand the technique. Hope this helps you. Happy Stitching!

My favorite book for fitting is Nancy Zieman's Fitting Finesse. It is wonderful! Not only does it preserve the integrity of your patterns, allowing them to be used over and over again, even if your figure changes, it also gives indepth solutions to all kinds of patterns. I service the bridal industry and would be lost without this book!

 Thanks, auzzi!

Actually, I just checked out Sandra Betzina's "Fast Fit" from my local library and found it so helpful that I ordered a copy online!

I'm going to look at Nancy Zieman's book too. I love a good reference.
