I know that we're just completing our Get To Know you Scavenger Hunt - but some questions have been asked about a possible Christmas Scavenger Hunt. Please let me know your thoughts - would you be interested? I would guess mail-by date would be about December 11 - that would allow two full weeks before Christmas for the packages to arrive. For the newbies, rules are as follows (and are very strictly adhered to): Same rules as always here – you cannot participate if you are new to the site and/or have not participated successfully in past swaps (fq, scavenger or other swap). I will need you to email me your username, real name, mailing address & telephone number (will not be shared, only for emergencies). Ten to twelve individual items, try to keep your spending at about the $15 (USD) mark (PLUS postage costs). There is usually one sewing requirement, probably a 12-1/2" quilt block. Before committing to this swap, please carefully consider if you will be able to fulfill the swap. If you do need to drop out of the swap or will be late, please contact me immediately. If you do not fulfill your obligation to this swap after committing, you will not be permitted to join future swaps of this type. Remember, should you have any questions/concerns, please let me know at any time. Once pairings are made, please please PLEASE be in contact with your swap partner frequently (at least once a week) throughout the swap. We have found that those who have not kept in touch are the ones that end up with problems at the end of the swap. |

Just for clarification purposes, the rules say "one can not participate if she/he is new to the site, and/or have not successfully participated in past swaps." I've been "lurking" on the site for at least a year...maybe longer. I've been getting Mary's "Quilt Tip of the Day" for just as long, but I've only "officially" joined the message board this month. I'm not sure, with the pressures of the holidays upon us, if I could participate in this particular swap, but for future reference I would like to know what qualifies me to participate. Thanks! Dee, I'm afraid not - I should have explained that better - you have to have successfully completed one swap successfully on this site before participating in a scavenger hunt - meaning, your first swap on SWN cannot be a scavenger hunt. |

Gotcha. Thanks for the clarification. Dee In the confrontation between the stream and the rock, the stream always wins--not through strength, but through perserverance.
