Just curious about what projects everyone is currently working on? Are you the finish one project entirely before starting another sort or do you have several projects in progress at the same time? I'm the latter.

Cut out and sitting next to my machine:
-2 pairs dolls' panties (from scraps)
-1 dolls' overalls (from scraps)
-1 Christmas apron
-1 Christmas craft project (from a panel - it's been a UFO for years)

Sitting on my ironing board, waiting to be cut out:
-1 pair flannel pjs for my daughter (and I'll cut out dolls' clothes from the scraps)

I have one jacket all done but the finishing touches. I have 11 yds. of flannel ready for cutting out jammies and some Swiss white cotton for my daughters. Also some very pretty knit for another Christmas gift, it will make a nice shell.

I want this stuff done before I do anything else. :re:

I tend to work on one "theme" at a time. Currently have a renaissance/pirate shirt for DH all laid out on khaki tencel and ready to be cut. It's been that way for about a month now, LOL! After making our Scottish garb for Highland Games on 10/2, I took a serious break. Got back to sewing on Saturday though, when I decided my pirate costume needed black satin sleeves for that evening...so glad I made them, it was about 24 degrees outside!
As soon as the shirt's done, I'm taking another break until after the holidays. I need the dining room table back! Plenty of cross stitching and cooking to keep me busy, though.

I finish one project before starting another as a rule. Doesn't always work that way though. Right now I have 3 going & some Cristmas ufo's for myself to do. Glad to hear someone else has ufo's from a time period. Think I need a housekeeper & cook in order to finish my sewing. Too bad I can't afford that. Some of this stuff has to go out of state so I need to be in here 24 7. Lots of luck to everyone to get their projects done on time.

I have a scrappy quilt (my second ever) that I'm almost ready to quilt together but I'm NEW at it. I've never quilted before. I've got my VERY FIRST quilt top to sandwich and quilt. It was a mystery quilt of all things and king size. I have a Christmas Lap Quilt ready to quilt.
I have another quilt all cut and half together and another that I want to do that I have the fabric for.
I need to make three pillows, two wall hangings and cut and tie off three fleece blankets.
Who wants to come help. LOL,
Susie

I'm working on a poncho for my niece and a quillow for my nephew. I just finished my first doll and am getting ready to start another. I'm also just about ready to cut out a new coat for me.

I tend to work on several projects at a time. I sew for hire, so I work on client stuff. In between I sew for my home and for gifts. I am trying my hand at selling some of my items, so I am making multiples of some of my favorite items. Currently I am working on:

1. Debutant dress, for hire
2. Fleece "love-knot" blanket, for hire
3. Fleece applique fall blanket, for fun
4. Curtains and quilt for my room
5. A skirt for my Mother-in-law
6. A shirt for my husband
7. I am planning my childrens' holiday outfits
8. A fall wardrobe for my Mom
9. Several pairs of slacks for myself
10. Baby blankets for twins born last month (not mine!)
11. A series of purses for sale
12. Checkbook covers for sale

I just finished (as in the last week):

1. Several pair of embroidered baby booties for gifts
2. A crushed penne "subby" suit (kind of like a jogging suit without all the elastic...subby stands for "sexy" and "chubby", a girl-friend of mine came up with that one)
3. About a dozen checkbook covers
4. A new purse for myself
5. A "Soccer Mom" sweatshirt...purchased sweatshirt, embroidered and all ribbing replaced with bias tape.

Sometimes I think I must be crazy...does anyone else feel that way about their projects?

I am sitting here hand sewing tulle together for little poufs on "the dress". (My heart palpitations returned after a year and DH says it's because of "the dress", but actually, they returned the week before I conceived it.) I can't wait to get it done (by Thursday night). DH is my support, as he keeps me on a time schedule and cleans up the kitchen a lot. The ball is Saturday and the young lady is very excited. She's never had anything made just for her. The first two fittings and alterations are done and I have a lot of stitching and finish work ahead of me.

Projects for me on the backburner are:
cord jacket cut out
velvet lingerie cut out and half sewn together
and several new patterns trimmed out ready to start (we took an out-of-state trip recently and I took the patterns along)
planning on at least two more dressy outfits for the holidays

ordered more fabric, does that count as progress?

Have fun y'all!

I have an awful tendency to stop mid-project and move on to something else. My actual "current" projects are:

* burp cloths for my cousin's baby shower next Sunday
* infant crawler for same shower
* tote bag and matching hat for my sister's birthday next Saturday

Coming attractions:

* Aloha shirt for my father for Christmas
* Pajama pants for my husband and brother-in-law for Christmas
* Fleece pullover and nightgown for my sister for Christmas
* Fleece hats for the kids for Christmas
(notice a theme yet? :bluesmile )

In my "dead" basket are the following:

* A fleece jacket and overalls, size 3-6 months. My son is now 12 months old. I stopped work on this when I burned a hole in the jacket in a pressing mishap. I have a new panel cut to fix it, but was so bummed at the time that I didn't bother. I hope to rescue it for my niece, for Christmas (she's 6 weeks old now).

* A maternity dress that was cut out but not a single seam sewed, because my sister had the baby a month early! I'll hold onto this in the hopes that one of us will have need for it again.

* A nursing dress that turned out to be see-through and I didn't have time to line it before the event (a wedding) I was attending. It's only half assembled.

* A pair of capri pants and vest-style blouse that I cut out to sew for a vacation this summer, and ran out of time.

* A knit jacket that I really really want, but somehow sewing for myself falls to the wayside so I can sew for everyone else!

I have 4 outfits to make for a fall conference with my job that starts on the 11th....this weekend will be my last final chance to get it all done (I have not started to lay the patterns out)....I did put together the pants i cut out sunday night (all but the waist) and they fit so I feel far more confident in cutting the fabric for the outfits i am making.....the pants were very easy to put together i am hoping the wrap around skirt and jacket will be as easy....

I am making three pants outfits, 3 suit jackets to go with each and one wrap around skirt and shirt....the fourth day of the conference i will be able to wear jeans

Still sewing costumes!!! I don't think I'll ever get to sew for myself again. :bluesad: :bluesad: Today I have to go buy 24 yards of unbleached muslin to make banners to be painted on.

Is that possible (to get so much done in time)? Good Luck!

Thursday night has passed and I'm still stitching "the dress". I'm going to deliver it around noon. "G" I hope I have it done by then. Just checking my email and relaxing with breakfast. Pictures coming tonight!!!

What's on my cutting table??? Laundry; a Vintage Vogue suit to be completed; 2 fleece tops ready to be sewn, a pair of velveteen pants waiting to be hemmed; fabric for 7 more outfits, stabilizers, thread, etc, etc ... I've just finished 12 placemats and napkins for a craft fair plus 10 fleece hats and 4 fleece scarves. I also embroidered 10 ornaments for a fundraiser. This week I got pattern pieces for a fleece pants and top cut out and it's ready to be altered. Today, I'm going to try to clear the laundry so I can return to sewing the Vintage Vogue suit for DD. I'm been working on and off on it since spring. It's pale blue satin with notched collar, princess lines with inset pockets, lots of top stitching. I plan to embroider a tone on tone rose on the collar for an added embellishment. Tonight I'm off to see DD in her first musical "Broadway Legends". It's a fundraiser for an adoption agency.
Happy Stitching!

My living room curtains sigh.... they have been ongoing for about 2 years now, thankfully we live in the boonies and don't really need them for privacy

I don't have much else on the go except a suit I cut out for me before the last baby (he's 2 1/2 now) and I'm preggo again so it will have to wait another 6 months  till I get back to shape!!

have made lots of stuff for the kiddies though, the next item is Xmas stocking for the new baby and Xmas pj's for all 4. (ack 4 kids for christmas!!)

Right now, I have the embroidery machine going working on ornaments. Our ASG chapter decorates a Christmas tree each year to be auctioned as a fundraiser for the local children's hospital. I've finished 10 ornaments and want to make some more. They are also great to stick in Christmas packages. I use felt squares and a little stabilizer. Once I set up the design, I can walk away until the machine stops. Great for multi-tasking. Family Christmas gifts will be a variety of things - placemats with matching napkins, fleece tops with machine embroidery, purses, aprons, puppets, etc. My DD at 16 hopefully will get her suit that I started on in the spring. I'm easily side-tracked at times. However, I do want to finish this for her. Happy Stitching!

That's what's known as "a red hot needle and burning thread". I sew like that more often than I should. Hope you have great success with the dress.
Happy Stitching!

Gee, I'm starting to feel a little better about myself; seems like most of us here have an ADD approach to projects
Several scrubs tops for the vets and techs at the animal sanctuary I work for PT.
About 10 pairs of Levi's to mend and patch for a friend.
Replacement cushions and covers for all our dogs' (9) crates.
Hand quilting a dreadful signature baby quilt for my SILs daughter.
Two wool flannel rag quilt throws/lap robes for Christmas gifts.
Making a pattern (using a purchased pair) for some 'piddle pants' for a dear friend's incontinent doggie.

I think that's it for now, but I may start something new at any moment, bwhahahahahaa!
