There must be a lot of people on this site who've passed on their sewing knowledge... I started learning about 2/3 years ago, when I was 19. I had a tiny sewing machine with 2 stitches on, which I gave to a friend, with plenty of advice on mistakes! Now he's getting a big sewing machine from a friend's mum and is passing on the small one to someone else, on the condition they do the same in a few years. I think I started a trend here I'm so glad I started, who else helps others do the same? katie |

I actually started teaching sewing classes because my friends insisted that I should. I have been teaching for about two years now, and I love it! I have not given away my sewing machines (I tend to hoard them...I think I have about 12 now), but I do help my friends find good machines in their price ranges, including hitting yard sales, ebay and thrift stores. I spend a lot of my time answering their questions and helping them finish projects. I love not only sharing the knowledge I have gained over the years, but also hearing how other people meet and defeat their sewing challenges. I am always amazed and often amused at the lengths we go through to solve our problems. My Mom turned me onto this discussion board...I have never been on one before. I love reading what everyone out there is doing and I have gotten some great ideas! Genevieve Genevieve
