I am trying to locate a childs coverall pattern. I do not mind what size it is as I can modify it. Here in NZ we actaully call them overalls but I think it is also known as a coverall. The type I want is a long sleeve coverall with a zip front. I have searched pattern books and cannot locate one. Can anyone help me with this please. Thankyou. |

Hi Bevchris, The only pattern I have is a jumpsuit type of overall Easy McCall's 6710 from the 'jumping bean' collection. It was given to me so I have no idea when it was printed. Hope you find one Enjoy the day. NanaBear |

Hi Bevchris does your library carry the Burda Books. This style is often in the Burda Baby books, and some of the regular WOF have baby patterns |

My 4 year old asked for coveralls like daddy's shop coveralls a couple of days ago. I have been thinking about them, but have not had time to look for a pattern. If you find a good one please post it so that I can benefit as well and I will be looking and do the same.

I have searched everywhere. Vintage patternc etc on the web too. I remember my brothers wearing these coveralls as young boys and loving them. I would love to make my grandson a pair. I have spent a lot of time searching and advertising for some but with no luck. I guess the only thing I can do is try and create a pattern myself although I am not very good at pattern draughting. If anyone can suggest anything or anywhere else I would appreciate it. Thank you |

If you can get it "Sew and Go Kids" is a great book and has what you describe on page 17, she calls it a pant robe with hood but it is a one piece suit with a front zipper with a hood if you want it. It has lots of great patterns for quicky kid stuff, I had to interface the pyjama one b/c it was starting to wear out The author is Jasmine Hubble and the publisher is Krause, www.krause.com burda usually has good kid stuff too Jeanette

Thanks, I had forgotten about the "Sew and Go Kids" Robe. I think that it will work just fine for what I need. If your child is less than a 3T, Singer's "Quick and Easy Sewing Projects" has instructions for making coveralls (they call it a romper) from a mans or larger childs shirt. They are very easy and sew up fast because the collar and closures are already done. I have made several for my boys when they were smaller. They especially enjoyed the ones made from DH old work shirts that had the company logo. Their coveralls were just like daddy's. I have checked both of these books out from our libraries interlibrary loan system. It is worth a try to see if you like them. Melanie
