Someone has asked me to do a project which seems easy but I thought maybe some of you had done this project before? I have been asked to sew a cover for a truck console in camouflage fabric .I am talking about the console in the middle between the 2 front seats. I am open to all or any suggestions.
thanks

Are you talking about covering the entire console - cup holders and all? Or is this a partial console (whatever that is). I made a cover for the lid of the console that opens (to keep dog claw marks off it) and held that on with elastic. But that doesn't sound like it would work for you. What year and make of truck is this? I think they are all a bit different.

Woodsy I think you are right it would be the console int he middle of the seats and it would be the one that opens. So what i would be making would be the a cover for the lid, i am not really sure i have yet to take measurments and. The truck is a 2005 model chevy. They are on a hunting trip in Missouri right now so i will know more next week
Btw any of you have hunter's and give give me some ideas on anything camouflage would be great!

Holley,

I have *hunters* and last week made them a drawstring tote bag made out of camouflage polar fleece that they absolutely LOVE .

They say it is real quite to open and close while they are hunting, which I guess is very important to them :nervous:

If you would like the measurements to make yourself a pattern, let me know.
I would be glad to share.

Thanks Nece what a cool idea! Believe me i have wracked my brain out for ideas for camouflage items??!!(items that they don't already have) You can't imagine how much camo is involved with this family!!lol One of the son's has his whole! truck!! and i do mean his whole truck! Painted Mossy Oak! I didn't even bother to ask how much that paint job cost!! Also if if you don't mind could you give me the name of the supplier you used for the camo fleece??
thanks a million for this info!

Holley,

His whole truck ?!?!
I would LOVE that ! I saw a truck that had been *wrapped* in mossy oak and was so cool. I keep telling my husband that I want to wrap my Explorer Sport Trac up and he just shakes his head at me

OK, back to the pattern
Bag Body : 17" x 14 1/4 "
Bag bottom : 9 1/4 " circle
Drawstring : 2 yards

Material : 1/2 yard 60 " wide

Cut 2 body pieces. 1 circle.
Sew one side, right sides together.
Fold over 1 inch at top for casing.
Sew other side together, right sides, starting below the casing.
Thread drawstring thru casing.
Mark center lines on bottom (circle)to match side seams of bag. ( I ususally use a pin )
Pull drawstrings down inside bag to bottom and pin between bag and bottom on the same side as the top. I pin one on each side of the side seam.
Pin bottom to bag starting at that seam and go all the way around , right side to right side. Sew.
turn right side out and viola , you have completed the bag.

It takes about 5 minutes to cut out and about 10 minutes to make. Very simple.

If I have totally confused you :nervous: let me know. I can also mail you a copy of the pattern, if that would be better.

I get all my polar fleece at either Wal_mart or Hancock Fabrics.
It is usually $7 - $8 a yard. 60 " wide.

Happy Sewing
