You will have to enlighten me, what is a cosplayer? Honestly, I thought this subject could use an entire thread. Cosplay is what brought my creative side out, truthfully. I’ve always been into sewing and creating things, but it wasn’t until I got into cosplaying that I truly started to practice this wonderful gift of mine. It is something that is bringing the younger generation into such a creative field. I encourage it among my friends who have a talent for fashion and creating. Cosplay (http://encyclopedia.thefreedictionary.com/cosplay) However, most major cosplayers, myself included, enjoy making their very own, unique costumes. I’ll some times wake up in the midst of the night with a brilliant costume idea. I’ve done many of my own costumes through recent years, along with many costumes that I’ve seen in video games and anime that I’ve found attractive. If a costume looks challenging, I might just do it for the ego boost. I love a good challenge. ^_^ K, I should also add that I am a male and the delightful creature you see in my signature and avatar is my cosplay model friend. She’s great because she loves this stuff to and is always willing to undergo a challenge, as well. I don’t particularly enjoy making male costumes, since it seems I can get so much more creative and stylish with female costumes. It just seems like you can’t embellish a male costume like a female costume. My creative style is just better spent making female costumes. I have a few male costumes for those special occasions where I'll need one, but for the most part, I don't make costumes for myself. I hope you guys find this more intriguing than silly. It is very easy to look at what I do and find it entirely ridiculous. Even I chuckle at some of the conventions I go to, but I do enjoy myself. I think you guys will find this interesting, though. Here are some frightening images of myself just so you girls/guys know whom I am for now on. I wouldn’t want to be mistaken as my friend. I might look a bit scary, but I’m really a sweet, Christian boy from Oregon. I grew up with quite the family. I had 7 sisters, and to my amazement, I’m the most creative one, or so they all say. I have no doubt, though, that they had an influence on my creative life. After all, chillin’ with girls most of your life is sure to do something to ya, right? Family Image (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v148/Goldendexter/Dexter/Dexterfamilly.jpg) That's before my last sister was born, but it is a nice picture, nevertheless. Oh, and I’m not married, to tell your daughters you found the perfect guy for them! j/k Here are some of the costumes for those who are interested. I think everybody secretly (or not so secretly) likes to dress up. That's why I do the renaissance thing. Makes me feel like a princess for a while. I've never done anything to replicate an actual character, but I might one day. Jessica P.S. nice job! photos.yahoo.com/greendragondesigns

I hope you guys find this more intriguing than silly. It is very easy to look at what I do and find it entirely ridiculous. Silly? Ridiculous? Seems more like lots of fun to me!!! 'Course, I'll use any excuse to dress in costume. And I agree, you can get more creative embellishing female costumes than male...which explains why DH has just one costume (with several versatile pieces), but I have a whole bunch BTW, your work and model are both beautiful! |

Final Fantasy characters? Anime? Ever recreated Sailor moon? I'm just in historic mode though I have done my fair share of dressing up as characters from Asterix, Men in Black and so on!
love and kisses, Jan
