I hem a lot of jeans for family & friends. The orange thread they call jeans thread is the weight I'm looking for but not the right color. I need more of a taupe color in that weight. You think upholstery thread would work?

I suppose it will if you can get it through your machine. How about topstitching thread?

My thought exactly. If you can find topstitching thread to match, go for it.

You can also double your regular thread -- just wind off an extra bobbin of that color, put it on the spindle with your spool, pull the ends of both out and thread your machine as if it's a single thread.

Did that make sense?!? :nc:
