I am making a quilt with blocks that will be machine embroidered using heirloom type designs. And, I wondered if anyone had experience with this and, if so, what type of stabilizer they used. I experiemented with the dissovable and I can see where this would be good for use with a dress or lingerie, but didn't know how necessary it was for a quilted piece. Any guidance you can give will be appreciated  Thanks!

I have done quite a few of these and there are two methods I use. A tearaway or I hoop my fabric and thin cotton batting and use the batting as my stablizer, works great. That way all I have left is my backing and stippling to do.

Thanks! I was thinking that a soft tear-away would be a good idea, especially for this particular quilt.
