Yes, I know of several reference books out there. In the meantime, do you know of any references online??

try the Threads website, it often has several different articles.
Also, about.com (http://www.about.com) usually has several good articles. I know it has one about velvet. I'd recommend going there and checking it out.

HeatherL,

Is there a particular fabric you're wanting ideas on?

I checked a few books out of the library a few weeks ago when I had questions about crepe. Right now I don't have any specific questions, just looking for another form of reference on the subject. The books that I ended up with were so vastly different! Each one included/left out different fabrics, so even though in general, each was good...I still felt like they were incomplete. They were: Fabric Savvy - Sandra Betzina, and Sew Any Fabric - Claire Shaeffer.

HeatherL,

I think you've got it pretty well covered!! For a few years, anyway, until the hightech fabric scene changes again. LOL
