I am looking for ideas for lessons for the new year. What do you want to see or learn how to do. I will bring in someone to teach if the desire is here. There will probably be a charge. Let me know your thoughts.

If there wasn't a charge, what would you like to learn?

Thanks Mary, I looked at the site. Looks good. Hopefully just 1 more week of taking care of mother than back to sewing.

Just sat down and read the site again. That is kind of what I want to do. But I am going to do it with scraps.

Hello,
I too am new to the site as of yesterday and checked out the lesson mentioned above. I am going to try it today. Thank you! If all goes well, I'll have pair of Log Cabin Christmas potholders. (I'm not good at thinking upside down and backwards and that's what paper piecing looks like to me, but I'll give it a go!)
I wonder if there's anyone besides me who would like to learn how to do Bargello? It looks beautiful. Maybe too hard for a beginner, Mary?
I tried my hand at Flying Geese...whew...those little critters grow while you're sewing them and don't always fly the same direction. Looks like more practice is needed.
Wishing everybody some peaceful sewing time.
Cheerio!

Besides Bargello, I am curious about and interested in trying a "Dear Jane".
Then there's curved piecing to learn and a Texas Star...
Oh, so many possibilities, so little time!

Mary, how about crazy quilting? You can do this by hand or machine, you can use up all your scraps, cottons, velvets, anything. Plus you can sit and do hand embroidery on it while you rest (hahahaha). I have been doing a lot of it lately plus teaching a class of very enthusiastic students. You don't even have to be much of a quilter to do this.
