Hello everyone I haven't posted lately, but have browsed often. So glad you are all here& I hope doing well! I have an alterations business in my home, and recently had the opportunity to sew a series of Civil War reenactment outfits. My customers were pleased, and am sewing several more things by referrals recieved. I just love the prospect of designing and sewing many more period garments! My question: do any of you hold membership in the Professional Association of Custom Clothiers?? What do you think, have you found benefit? Worth the "dues"? Hey, thanks alot Kerry Originality is undetected imitation

I am Canadian, we don't have PACC. I have heard that it is very much worth the dues. The networking aspect of it alone would probably do your business a lot of good.

Hey There, I am a former member of PACC. I don't have anything against it. They are a great group of sewing professionals. The main reason I left was that our group was very small and it was becoming an intrusion on my personal and business time because I held a couple different positions. Trying to make it to Board meetings and regular meetings was exausting for me. I suppose if I was in a different station in my life, I could have pulled it off okay. I have a 5 year old and another one on the way and work in addtion to my part time sewing business. So my time is very valuable these days. I'd say if you're going to join a fairly big group it would be worth it. There is so much experience and comeraderie to draw from. If only for the on-line discussion group. Hope this helps. Vickie |
