It's on the next block over...found it today. (while my house was being re-roofed)(they didn't have time to turn it off when they saw me comming YAY !!!) I looked it up in the county records...it's a rental and I don't think the owners (in TX) know that the house is populated by 12 or more people 24 hrs a day, that don't seem to work....just play the stereo....(inside and in their cars, which are parked all over whats left of the lawn)..so guess whos going to be making some phone calls to TX..... Last time I was there and asked, no stereo was on of course, they turned it off when they saw me comming, but the smell of dope when they opened the door nearly knocked me down...so I'm gonna see what happens in the few days....wish me luck getting rid of the stereo's and their players...!!!

Let us know how it goes with the absentee landlord. What kind of noise laws are there in the area? Can you use them to help now that you have done the leg work finding the source? Good Luck. Dorothy |

How about a little ferret through the letter box? not fair to the little slinkies! Glad you have found your noise pollutant - you must have been going bonkers trying to work out where it was from. What do THEIR neighbours feel like I wonder? love and kisses, Jan

As far as I can tell, it doesn't bother anyone but me....it travels under ground, somehow and comes through my house...(personally 'I' think it has something to do with the septic tank and the drain field, thats where all the noise is centered, along with the a/c unit...which amplifies the sound when it's on.) And thats only the one in the house...theres also the ones that drive by 24 hrs a day.... so I'm gonna see about a petition banning the things in residential areas.... Thank you ALL !!! Chrys

Chrys we have a noise ordinance here in Midwest City. After 9:00 p.m. the city police will enforce it. During the summer we had a few problems with some of the neighbors opening their car doors on their drivways and turning their rap music up as loud as it would go while they were mowing their lawns, etc. That only lasted about 2 weekends and then the police were out here telling them to turn it down and close their car doors. I have nothing against rap music if that's what they want to listen to, but please do not try and force the entire neighborhood to listen to it. Patsy Patsy

Chrys, you can't tell me it doesn't bother the neighbors next door. What if there was a baby in the house. Good grief, someone must speak up.

Next door has 2 kids (5-2 ???) she says it doesn't bother her, the 5 yr old says it bothers HER. (but Taylor 5 is a drama queen, so how can she be believed ??? Their house is always noisy...t.v. is on I live in the quietest house on the block (or so everyone says...I don't get into other peoples houses much). My t.v is only on at night, if theres something I wanna watch, the stereo is almost NEVER played and if it is, it's only heard in the living room. ( I really don't like noise....) Ferrets don't make much noise...(although Bob is almost 5 and he's snoring now ) I guess I'm just one of 'those' people.....I like to live quiet and I treat others the same way.... Chrys

Way to GO!!!!!! Did you report your findings to your councilperson? Heaven knows just how many other violations are going on inside that house if there are that many people coming and going from it. One day you could be like my neighborhood and have the police come flying in to a house on the next block over surround it and then start telling everyone to leave their own houses for saftey!!!!! We later found out that there was a Meth Lab in the house with enough crap in it to have blown up a 1/4/ mile radius in ANY direction!!!!!! Anyways, I'm glad that you finally found the noise!!!! |

Chrys, I'm so glad you found that!!!!!!! Our whole street is filled with rentals, and I know they move a lot - I suspect a lot of dealers here, but can't prove a thing. I'm just like you, I live VERY quiet [even with two sons, lol]. No loud stereos, no tv's on all the time, etc. I need to live miles out in the country! If there are drugs in the house, mention it next time you call the cops. They may get there a lot quicker, lol. "onward through the fog"
