Well actually I am not building anything lol. But my son-in-law is a wood crafter and he is wanting to build me a sewing cabinet. It started out being a christmas present from him and my daughter and after looking at some online and checking out the prices. We all decided he could construct one that could be custom built for me. Has anyone attempted this type of project or had someone do this for them?? If anyone has any ideas or suggestions I would greatly appreciate them? thanks abear Holley

There was a pattern that looked very cool for building one a few months ago in Keepsake Quilting catalog, you could probably look through their online site and it might still be there. I'm not quite sure if that's the type of thing, but a few questions to think about are what type of sewing do you do, what would you like to be able to store, and other things like that. Ticia |

It would be nice if you had your machine built in so it sat flat on the top. Also a specific place for your manual and machine feet. Maybe some place for basic colors of thread too.

How about building in on the side a sort of roll holder for stabilisers and interfacings? Someone mentioned the food wrap dispenser type... |

How about a Fold-down shelf--- to put up for cutting, or holding the quilt while you are sewing on it, if you are a quilter...

Custom sewing table (http://home.att.net/~kckintz/table/table.html) I found the table I was talking about from Keepsake Quilting, here's the link: And then here's a table I found directions for among my various bookmarks: Keepsake quilting table (http://www.keepsakequilting.com/KQShopping/partsview.asp?action=lookup&partno=2220&subject=U11.L10&catpos=11) Ticia |

I like the looks of the quilting table!!! I just don't have room for something that big. Maybe when our "nest" starts to empty in a few years. That would be ideal for someone that has a sewing room!! mgf~ Blessings & Smiles
