I've made an Aloha shirt...navy blue with white floral motif. Should I use navy or pearl-colored buttons? |

What colour is the fabric down the front where the buttons go?

It's primarily navy blue. The white floral motif is rather large, so it covers part of that area as well, but I'd still say that the primary color is the navy. I just wasn't sure if I could get away with the pearl buttons since it's meant to be a more "loud" garment, or if I should stick with nice safe navy. |

I agree with Mary, go with the navy. It sounds better to me. Ticia |

Sight unseen I'd probably go with navy also----------I always thought that choosing the darker color in a print prevents the buttons from calling attention to themselves too much! Or another way would be to select some buttons from your button box that are about the right size, and all white if possible. Then cut little circles from your fabric that include both some of the white and some of the navy from your print, and cover the buttons for a custom designer look! |
