i need to move the crouch up in his pants when i make them so this is what i am thinking....tell me if i am wrong or if this wont work I am thinking of moving the waist line down one inch...moving the pocket markers down one inch and sewing it that way....i also need to make the legs 2 inches smaller (he is tall and skinny) and move the hem up 3 inches and the pants patern would fit perfect then there would be no more after sewing alterations.... will moving the waist down and the pockets down work or will this interfer with the crouch? Yes if he fits the xtra small for everything else that would work. Also most patterns come with a shorten/lengthen line for the crotch. This works a lot better than wacking it off the top. I say this all the time but if you don't have a Kwik Sew book you definately need to get one. I have learned a lot from those books. More than I ever learned in home ec. Gina

Funny thing.... After altering the pants leg width (making them 2 1/2 inches smaller) the crotch and the leg lenth are just right.. I guess i dont need to alter the patten except for the leg width.. Jada |
