Recently a friend was over and noticed how I organized my embroidery threads. She said I should share the idea. So here goes. I belong to a thread club and get 12 mini-kings per month. When I get them, I use an ultra-fine Sharpie to copy the color # and the color card placement number (A1, C11, Q25 etc) on the top of the spool, then place them in my storage boxes according to the color card. [I also write the color card# on the label on the bottom, because I can make it a little bigger &8-) ] I also started highlighting the colors I do have (on the color card) to make it easier to choose or change colors. I have found that taking the extra time to do this saves me time in the long run. I can take out all the colors for a project (even if they are simular) and then put them back in the correct order just as easily. CharliAnn =^,,^= |
