I have a kenmore 15212 and a singer 1525.

I want to learn to quilt can i do quilting on these machines or do i need a new one?

Of course you can use those machines.
I have a simple Brother XR-31 and it has done everything I've wanted. Of course I would like some other features and stitches but Santa may take care of that. The only thing you may run into is the 'throat' space being crowed when you go to quilt the top of a big quilt. I've only done lap size so far. We will see how it goes when I do a double and queen I'm getting ready.
