Everyone makes some sort of resolution to themselves this time of year. Many want to lose weight, some are going for that big promotion. Others want to start something new in their life or end something old. What is your resolution for 2005. Seriously, not "I should" stuff, a serious resolution or goal that you have decided to address. Mine is to treat myself once in a while. I know, sounds silly doesn't it. But, I never, ever do this. There is enough going on in my life that I feel the need to do this for me. As Martha says, "its a good thing." I can be a better wife and parent if I get a little lift once in a while. I also want to lose another 15 lbs. I can do it, just need to start exercising instead of just watching my food intake. What are your resolutions? MaryW

I haven't made resolutions for many years. I knew that I wouldn't keep them. This year, however, I am determined to make a few changes, and I have started a list. This is a partial list. 1. I will lose 18 pounds. My goal is actually 20, but the last two are so hard to lose. 2. I will use my sewing machine or serger at least once per week. This may sound strange to a lot of people on these boards, but I can go a long time without doing any kind of sewing...I spend a lot of time thinking and dreaming about what I want to do, and don't actually 'do' it. Mary, we need a 'kick in the butt' smily. 3. I will *not* buy any sewing/crafting related books this year! This will be the hardest for me, but I have sooooo many books already...I think this may be my addiction...which makes me wonder what will replace it(hopefully something that doesn't cost too much!) Well, that's my list so far! Take care,

I have applied for a new job and may well get interviewed next week. This will ease the finacial burden on Tony but leave me with less time for upkeep of the home. My aim is to reduce his stress load which is causing him distress - however - a messy home is not helpful to keeping him happy when he comes in either. I do not intend to turn into superwoman in order to manage - I still need 'me' time in order to keep me sane. And drink more water. love and kisses, Jan

Mary, I'm with you in treating myself. Started in December with massage and pedicure. January: Deep cleaning facial For the other months, I'll see what I feel like. I'm including this in my budget. #2: I will not worry about my weight. I will be careful and start exercising again but will not lose any sleep over it. I've gain 40 lbs in 2004 and realized I've been fighting nature for a long time. #3: Should not get another cat - I think you'll agree with that 4 should be enough. By the way, how does one manage to cut fabric and put something together when the furballs are all over you ... and your project ... or on your project ? Happy New Year everybody |

By the way, how does one manage to cut fabric and put something together when the furballs are all over you ... and your project ... or on your project ? My scissors are quite sharp and go through dog fur like butter. My suggestion for you is to get your scissor sharpened, or if need be, invest in a new good pair! |

Sheri, I'm a big sap when it comes to my babies. I'd rather push them away and when I do that, they think I'm playing then they find themselves under the fabric. They're soooooo cute. |
