I have had a pattern, Simplicity #9294, easy to sew jumpers, pants and tops.....I am going to make me a jumper and top!
This will be my second item made from a pattern. I'm so excited.
I found some material that I wanted to use to make a floral jumper and the lady at WalMArt talked me right out of using that. She said it didn't have any stretch!
I found that Hobby Lobby has denim on sale for $3.97 and I thought that was a good price.
So I will keep ya'll posted on my progress!!
(My first item I sewed turned out great....it was a purse, but while I'm out I'm going to pick up some boa feather to sew around the top! Make it a little more fun!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

I'm going to help DD(13) make a denimn skirt today. She has used patterns but only for stuffed animals. We bought her a machine for christmas so now she wants to use it. Fabric will come from my stash. She was going to buy some the other day at Jo Ann's but the fabric would have been more than a RTW at Walmart that I talked her out of. It was on clearance for $5. The fabric was only $2 per yd. but she needed 2 1/2 for the skirt she wants, Very full ankle length. I figure this is a good way to use up stash so I can buy more.
MGF does your pattern call for stretch? If so I would recomend for your first time not trying to use something without. After you try it you can then alter it on the next try with different fabrics because you will know how it fits in the recomended fabric.
