I am having a horrible day.

It is the first day my husband has worked since b4 Christmas. He leaves for work at 6:30 am and this morning left the living room lights on. Normally this would not be a problem but his aunt gave us this silly singing Christmas clock that sings every hour when the lights are on. So the stupid clock woke up my dd (who is 6) at 7 AM and she has a COLD AND IS VERY WHINY.

Then the annoying man forgot  to bring his lunch with him so about 11 I threw a load of laundry in the machine and ran out to the airport. When I got home my bathroom (where the washer is) was filled with water. I had been asking  (OK it has probably turned into nagging) him to fix that drain so it wouldn't freeze everytime it hits -30 :Canada: since last January. OF course he has more clothes then the rest of us. So it is not a problem for him if I can't do laundry for the two coldest months of the year.

OK VENT OVER. :bolt:

Give him a bar of soap, a rock and send him out to the nearest stream to do his laundry...that should make him fix things.....
Men can be such idiots and then they wonder why we get mad......

Oh this day keeps getting better and better. Husband still not home and my dd (remember the whiny one) gets sick all over my kitchen.

I think I should have never got up this morning.

It quite all right to vent Sheri! We've all had days like you're having and I do hope it has gotten much better. If not, join us at 10:00 p.m. tonight and vent a little more and get it out before the New Year starts. If you can't well, I want to wish you a great New Year and hope things get warmer and more pleasant as the year goes along.

I do know about having a husband that puts things off with one excuse or another until a disaster happens and then it costs a lot more to fix than it would have originally. Men!! You gotta love them in spite of them!!!

Sherri,

Get right back on that soapbox and bean him over the head with the clock when he walks in the door, hand him the sick kid and a mop and wrench tell him to do the wash when he's done fixing the drain and tending to a sick kid.
When he asks where you will be, just tell him you'll be with the girls!!! Then lock yourself up with the computer and join the chat. That is, if you can still stay awake after the day you've had. :bg:

There should be an off switch on that clock. Otherwise, cover the clock's "eye" with a piece of electrical tape or put a towel over the whole thing.

I beat Poul at Trivial Pursuit and watched the fireworks with my sick daughter.

I did switch the clock off. The kids were just enjoying it so much that is why I hadn't switched it off before now.

Sherri,
I hope Poul got that drain fixed for you.

My hubby shocked me. Wednesday he started putting shelves in our coat closet and linen closet. We've only lived in this house for 2 1/2 years wothout them. :re: He told me to leave his tools where he had them. (On the sofa :re: ) He was actually going to put the shelves in the kids bathroom closet the next day. Three days later and no shelves in the bathroom closet yet and guess where the tools are? And guess where hubby is???? In the recliner. :re:

Our husbands must be related. We have been married 31 years and he has never finished a major project. He always leaves something on each item...trim, a piece of tile, something. In 1979 we moved our kitchen from one side of the house to the other. I had all kinds of little things that had not been finished...same thing in the bathroom that we did the same year. We moved out of that house in 1997 and started renting it. Two years ago we lost our renter and had to do quite a bit of clean up work. Guess what??? He finished the work for the new renters.

I married a hunter. His hunting season starts in September when he gets together with the hunting buddies to plan their strategy for the year. What is there to plan!?!?! Go out there and get what you are hunting for! As a deer hunter that means he gets to go for the early archery season, the early gun season, the regular gun season, (we are now into Thanksgiving week...), then there is a late extended gun season, and the late archery season.

Today is the day I have been waiting for! Four months of camoflage and blaze orange are over!!! Today is the LAST day for any hunting!!!!!..... he just called home to say he got 2 deer, on the last day, and he can't figure out why I wasn't as excited as he was about it. Next year I think I will only let him hunt on the last day of the season and save me a lot of long days and weekends alone, playing mom and dad to our daughter! Days that could be better spent in my sewing room doing something I love!
There I feel better! Thank you for listening.

At the end I am not showing up at my grave all pretty and well preserved...I am coming in sliding, yelling "What a ride!"

My husband is the same way. I have molding missing all over the house but I have to look at the bright side my sister has a husband who don't know how to do anything and she has to pay for her things to get worked on.
