As of yet I don't have an emb. machine. I really don't feel a need to upgrade my present sewing machine, but I sure would love a auto thread cutter for when I do machine applique. My quest is do most of you find that the 5X7 hoop size is sufficient for most of your needs. I don't think I'll do a lot of emb. (but who knows- I could find it terribly addicting- just what I need another addicting habit- I thinks thats why I've been putting it off) but I do feel I'll quickly outgrow the 4 X 4 hooping size but don't know if I get the 5 x 7 I will be content . From the sounds of it, most of you want a bigger emb. area than you have and do a lot more emb. than you thought. Thanks- Penny

I have a 10x10 hoop and have yet to use it (even after 2 yrs). Yes I DO have patterns that use the (giga hoop) in my machine. I think for most people who're just doing 'regular' stuff. (no jacket backs etc) 5x7 is sufficient.
