Hi, well i just joined this site and i hope i will learn alot from it! I have been sewing the last two years and i really love it! I am finishing Grade eleven and i am really considering a career in fashion designing! But i am not sure where to begin or were I want to focus on! I thought about making wedding dresses prom dresses etc. But I am not totally sure yet I just love making creative items of clothing and seeing where i end up or should i say how the item ends up! I would really appreciate advise on certian areas in which you can have a good career and there are numerous job opportunities! Thank you ~ Kelly~

Hi Kelly,

welcome to the boards!!!!!!! I am not sure what schools you have for fashion in Canada, but here in Ohio there is Kent State University. It has one of the top fashion and deisgn programs in the country. WWW.KentStateUniversity.edu

There's the International School of Design and LaSalle College in Montreal. Toronto also has excellent schools in that field. Why don't you do a search on the web to find out what is available in the city you wish to study. I'm also sure the ladies here can direct you in the right direction. Good luck to you.

There is also a design school in Ottawa. The name escapes me right now.
