I just had to make my little girl a new coat.....the weather is suppose to get chilly come Friday! For some reason she gets embarassed...is that normal?? The coat is a little big for her, but it will do the job of keeping her warm for those quick potty trips outside. Now I need to make my other little girl a coat too!! Hers is going to be hot pink..but I will have to for sure make it smaller. Check out Pearls coat~ {it might take a few minutes for it to update} my sewing goodies... I can only see your crochet hook case on that link - am I daft? Is it somewhere obvious?

She does look embarrassed. Once she realizes it is warmer with it on she will like it better. I must have the only dog around that is actually proud to be well dressed. She got a sweater for Xmas and it is hard to get her out of it. If it is cold outside she doesn't even want out without her sweater. The only problem is that she is a VERY active dog (young Jack Russell) and the first thing she did in the new sweater is run out to play with her friend Max -- a lab pup. So her sweater has snags and runs but she doesn't care. She likes it so much I was thinking of making her some fun stuff. Flannel pjs, athletic uniforms, maybe a Hawaiian print shirt for summer. I like the stitching. Is that a decorative stitch on your machine? How did you do the star? I have the same pattern for my dog and haven't used it yet.

When my daughter came home to Wisconsin to visit with her warmer weather 80 pound boxer poor Lucky just froze outside the door and wouldn't move. Because it was the holidays I sewed him a polar fleece Santa suit coat and trips outside were no longer a problem. Christmas Day Lucky sat in the front seat of the car in his suit and proudly let all passing cars on the highway know he was dressed for the occaision. They are now back home and Lucky will not go for his walks without his coat on! Daughter just called and asked if Lucky could maybe have a coat that is not a Santa suit. She is getting embarrased but he's not! I asked her if maybe they wanted matching coats? Grandma Sue
------------ At the end I am not showing up at my grave all pretty and well preserved...I am coming in sliding, yelling "What a ride!" |

I think my dog realizes people wear clothes and feels she should too. Without them, she may think, she is no better than a cat. Dorothy |

I can see it now, perhaps she's just camera shy. Perhaps if you made Lucky a jogging suit for the warmer climes Gandmasue!

I love that stitch you used around the edge of Pearl's coat.. My machine has that one and I use it on the satin blanket binding on baby quilts that I bind for gifts. (cannot say I make them, all you have to do is bind them.. )

Thanks Y'all!! Living in Texas they don't wear coats that often...but we are suppose to have a cold snap with possible snow and ice... wouldn't want them to get cold. The stitch that I used for the straps was a single star and the stitching around the edge was a double star. I think the coat kinda looks like a saddle!! I also picked up 2 stars to for the back. Like I said I will have to make Dobies alot smaller....looks like I will be doing some pattern drafting. I will have to do a pretty stitch on hers too!! Make her coat special just like she is. mgf~ Blessings & Smiles

Just had to update y'all on Pearl wearing her coat!! Last night I had a meeting to attend and when I got home I came in and guess who was prancing around in her coat??? PEARL!! As soon as she saw me she ran under the table. I think she is trying to outsmart me....SHE thinks if she acts like she don't like it I will make her another.. ..I'm just sure!! The next one will have a matching hat!! mgf~ Blessings & Smiles
