Mary I tried to log into the home page & it says I am not found. Do I need a different name & password than on the forums? I wanted to look at the BOM & couldn't get in. Lucky for me I saved it but not the tips page.

When we began this overhaul, security changes were made at the same time. I had to change my login name to find the lessons too. I'm confused about logging in too. I'm logged into the forums all the time. I go to the Sew What's New home page and it wants me to log in. I log in and it says that it isn't recognized. What do I do? Susie northern NY

You may have to change your login name and/or password. Once you are in here, I am fairly sure you are the same poster as before.

Everyone, try clearing your cache. This may be the problem as well. I never thought of it before.

Mary, I cleaned 'everything' just now and it won't let me use my password and user name and if I try to register again it says that my email and user name already exsists........lol............I know that................hehehehehe....it is ME. OH well. Susie northern NY

I think it wants a separate username for the site. We don't know why this is happening to some and not others. Sorry for all this.

I think there are problems with the site. Really I do. I immediately went and registered again with a new user name and it said it would send me my password. It never did. I went and clicked on send me my password just now and it said the user doesn't exsist. I guess I'll just use theforums. Thanks anyway, Susie northern NY

Another idea is NOT to log out. I never log out then I don't have to log in next time.

I just registered last night. It let me use Momofsix with no spaces. It said password would be sent but I figured with it being Sunday I would have to wait until today. I still haven't recieved it. Thanks for putting links on here so I can check things out while waiting.

| Mary when I am on the discussion I can post a message, as you can see, when I am on the home page it won't let me into ex: the advent lesson. Hope this helps you figure it out. The home page won't except my password as well. |

We now have two separate operating systems. One for the boards and one for the site content. I "think" we have eliminated the password part of the site, see if you can get into the content part of the site. If not, let me know. Thanks everybody for your patience. I assure you, this is not something I am enjoying anymore than you are. Not only that, but today we are in the middle of a blizzard. I only have internet access and phone service once in a while.

After reading your post I went to the home site. I can get that page. I clicked on the Advent Quilt link, and it tells me I'm not authorized to see it. Still won't let me log in under any name.

I have a similar problem with logging in - it accepts my user name but not my password which it has accepted before. It doesn't seem to want to send me a new password either - just keeps returning me to the 'ask for a new password' page. I can reach the boards by clicking on the links in e-mails and it knows who I am - as you say definitely 2 operating systems here.

Mary I know you are trying! I just wanted to let you know that I still can't get on. I still have not recieved a password I registered with a new name last night & was told a password would be sent e mail, I put my address in then. So it isn't an old address. Like I said I know this is just as frustrating for you I just thought you should know it still doesn't work for me.

I didn't mean to sound naggy, just to let you know about the idiosyncritites of the site. If I have a new private message I get an e-mail about it - fine, but as soon as I get on the site I get a pop up window as well telling me I have a new message, so for each message I get two notifications. I assume this is because when I send one I check the box saying " do you want verification" and that's how it does it. It had me fooled at first - I thought people loved me so much they wanted to send me messages all the time, but they were always the same one......how naive can I be!

I just emailed the webmaster about this, before I noticed this post. I cannot login from the homepage, the only way I have figured out to get in here is to click on the link in a subscripbed thread that gets emailed to me  edited to add.... I also jsut got a failure notice in my inbox, apparently the "contact us" email address doesn't work either. it "no longer accepts mail" whatever that means..... I cannot get anything from the home page anymore.. I just click onto the discussion link and when I get to the boards it has recognized me and everytihng is OK.. I have to back into anything else I want by finding a link in one of these threads and clicking there. Once you get to the projects page, for example, then you can click on any of the projects there..
