hi,
i just got a brother se270 embroidery machine for christmas and am just getting started in embroidering. i have some questions if anyone would like to help a beginner. i have downloaded some fonts and i have the box to write it to a memory card. my question is, how do i link the letters up to form a word? they are showing up on my machine as individual designs. i don't know if i am wording the question right but, any pointers would be helpful. there are alot more questions to come i am sure but right now, this is the most pressing.
thanks

Welcome to Sew Whats New

If not mistaken you need software to do this with. Does your machine have those capabilities at all? I know on the bigger brother machines you can do it from the screen.

Hi Tracey, I love embird. It's the cheapest one I've found for the things it can do. You can even add fonts (the whole alphabet) for something like 15.00 to create names. You can arc the words or put phrases together with the add on. It's a great program you can merge designs together and then save them as one. You can download a free trial for 30 days or 100 uses which ever comes first. www.embird.com

hi tracy,
I have the 270 and all i do is one letter , then another then another, it works for me. i only write names like Rose, Zoe, Carl ect but in the manual it shows welcome. I love my machine, i am considering a reader writer box, what kind do you have?

suzie is right.. your best bet is to go with Embird... not only will it allow you to combine the separate letter files into a single file, it will allow you to do quite a bit of editiing... resizing, color changes, split part of one design out and add it to another design, etc...Embird will also convert most formats... so if you find a free design you'd like to download, but it only comes in hus, you can download and convert to pes for your se270... it's pretty hard to beat all you get for the price you pay.... btw Tracey... once yo have Embird, ask again and I'll walk you through putting the letter files together... its a piece of cake... you can get the free trial version of Embird as a download.... www.Embird.com

just my 2 cents...

Well said Mamadus. I didn't know how to explain it all but you did it wonderfully. That's my deslexia (sp) coming out in me. LOL I love Embird.

Yep mama, the names say it all. Mother and Mama. I've always been a night owl since that was the only time I had to myself when the kids were little. Come to think of it I was a night owl when I was a teenager also. I'm too noisy to go to bed if there is something going on even if it's just the tv shows on. Now the computer gives me more company. ditto suz!!! when my kids were younger, nitetime was MY time... now that I have only one left at home, and he's a college student... MY time is basically anytime I want it to be, but I tend to be the most awake at nite!! go figure!!

from one night owl to another... :bluesmile
