Hello everyone! I'm new to this forum and a beginner sewer. I'm taking lessons now and have a question about bobbins that no one can seem to answer. I have a Singer 2517 machine and the manual is not very helpful at all. It came with 4 bobbins but I need to get more but all the ones I see at the stores do not directly say on the package that they will fit my machine. It is a drop in bobbin and the packages say certain Singer models they'll fit plus most drop in bobbin machines but those bobbins seem to be a tad smaller than what came with my machine. I do have one bobbin that came with my machine that seems to be the same size as the ones in the stores. I'm wondering if the slight size difference will be a problem? This may sound silly but I don't know much yet but am very eager to learn. Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Take one to the store with you & someone should be able to help you. If they can't go to a dealer & ask. Save the package for next time.

I have three singers and they all take a #15 Singer bobbin. My Kenmore used the same bobbin.

Hold out until you find the right one. It is very important that the diameter, depth and the placement of any holes in the bobbin be right. You can probably find the right part online.

If I have your machine right according to the site in the link below your bobbin for the Singer 2517 is a top drop-In Class 15 Plastic Bobbin.

Then I found your bobbins here:
