Hi All.  This is my first time on this site. I am looked for something that perhaps one of you can help me with. I am looking for a pattern for a Mandarin collar, Chinese-type top (blouse) with that lovely, ummmm, how to describe?, well the front crosses over and is buttoned with either frogs or buttons on the other side on the chest. I want the pattern to be log sleeved. Oh, and I'm a plus-size. Do any of you know where I might find this? I've been searching the web and coming up empty-handed. I've seen patterns for a Mandarin collar top but not in combination with that cross over flap. THAT's what I really, really, really want. Your help will be oh so much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I don't know if you'll be able to find a lot that has the actual cut that you're talking about, but Simplicity 5098 has the mandarin collar and a pseudo Chinese cut to the shirt. I think there might be a few others in the big 4, but you have to look at the pattern, none of them seem to be the "featured" cut on the pattern, so check out all of the patterns that have a mandarin collar. You should be able to find one in the big brand names. They are very popular right now. I made my daughter a dress just like last summer. Dorothy |
