I am trying to use my machine to applique hearts to a pair of overalls. With overalls that do not have the snap crotch, what is the easiest way to apply machine applique? Should I rip the seam from crotch? Any suggestions?
Blessings to all!

Where will the applique(s) be applied? Also, is this the bib-type overalls?
Take care,
Donna

Thanks for responding so fast! Yes, its for bib type overalls and I want to place them on the legs, down the front and rear. I'm copying the design style of some that I have seen and just can't figure out the best way to do it without ripping the seams-maybe I have no choice? I'm using some minkee & chenille fabric, squares and hearts. Thanks!
Blessings to all!

Since you are putting the appliques on the legs, I think you will have to open seams so you will have a flat surface to work on. It probably wouldn't matter whether it is the outside seams or the inseams. I would pull out the seams that look easiest to open and put back together. Often those pants have a regular seam, and a flatfell-type seam...I would open the regular seam. Hope this makes sense!
Take care,

If you have a free-arm machine you might be able to manoeuver the legs a bit that way. Other than that, I think you have to open up the seams.

I do have an open arm machine, but when I tried to maneuver it, I ended up messing up stitches-I guess I will have to open the seams. After looking at the overalls-(these are Old Navy brand) I will open the inseam. I didn't really want to, but oh well!! Thanks for responding!!
Blessings to all!
