They did a little blurb on knitting last night on our local news channel. This lady does some absolutely awesome work. She will be in England next year to teach and she is having some sort of retreat this summer here in Nova Scotia. She was wearing knit socks for earrings, miniature of course. They were so cute. I cannot knit but love to see the work. It is just beautiful. http://www.tradewindknits.com/ MaryW

Do you know what M means? The directions read K1.(M1.K14) 6 times. No one I know seems to know what the M1 means. |

Hi Bone, My knitting book says, "M1 means: Make 1 by picking up loop between next stitch and stitch just worked and knitting into the back of it." Hope this helps you (and is easier to do than it sounds)! Good Luck. |

Nice site. I think I might have to take up knitting again. I am going to need something to do with my hands whilte I watch tv at night. I aam giving up smoking.

Carolyn -- Good for you. Save all the money you would have spent on cigarettes and buy yourself something fantastic. It won't take long to save enough for a new sewing machine or a shopping spree in a fabric shop or something equally exciting. Dorothy |

Hi all, Great to see that knitting is once again coming to the fore as a popular craft. In Australia, the sale of knitting yarn over the last two winter seasons have doubled in 2003 and then in 2004 they trebled that of the previous year. It will be interesting to see what will happen this year as we are about to go into our winter. Myself, I have had the needles clicking as our first grandchild is due in early April and there is a small pile of items piling up in a corner of the lounge room. Currently I am working on a teddy bear - also a candlewicked quilt and a cross stitched sample for the nursery wall. Its not at all obvious that I am looking forward to our bundle of joy. Regards |
