Hi - Is anyone a sewing machine expert? I got mine out after years in the cupboard and it's not working properly. I think I have threaded it all properly including the bobbin but it's not catching the bobbin thread regularly. I have played around with the tensions and stitches etc and nothing I have tried seems to work - it can go OK for a little bit or here and there but is mostly missing catching the bottom thread. When I watch it as the needle goes down the top thread starts to loop around and then doesn't seem to go far enough and slips off. I can't find the instruction book - it's an Elnita 150. Any suggestions appreciated Thanks so much |

The Elnita was not made by Elna, but is a far eastern built machine that was distributed through the same company. From your description, my first guess would be that the needle is in backward. Be sure that the flat side of the shank is to the rear. Bill Holman |

Thanks for the reply Bill The needle is definitely in with the flat part to the rear. Any other ideas for me? Thanks Sue |

OK, I need a little clearer picture of what you're saying here: "When I watch it as the needle goes down the top thread starts to loop around and then doesn't seem to go far enough and slips off." Bill Holman |
