I'll tell you now....I have never sewn in my life. I am starting a company and I need a certain type of sewing machine to finish my product. I want to manufacture here instead of overseas. The people around me can't help me on this....so here goes. I know that I need an industrial machine. What I need is a machine that will sew 3-5mm neoprene (wetsuit material) but it has to be able to do a zig-zag stitch to close a cylinder of that material. Picture this....take a even piece of material. The way it has to be done is fold the material in half. So, you will be sewing thur 2 pieces of material. I need a zig-zag stitch that will put the two open ends closed but not have a lump of material on the inside when you finish. The inside should be smooth and I don't want to have to cut the extra off. I will be using Tex70 Nylon thread. If someone could point me in the right direction...it would greatly appreciated. If this doesn't make since of what I'm trying to do, please ask and I'll try to give better details....thanks all....z

Some home sewing machines might do the job needed but when used for a business might void the warranty. Some of the older used machines are workhorses also. I suggest to do a search on line under Industrial sewing machines..there are several good ones. Many come with a walking foot attached like the Pfaff's IDT that handle almost any fabric. These Industrials are different prices with different features. Somebody experienced with Industrials might chime in and suggest a certain brand. I have seen Tuffsew, Sailrite, Pfaff, Singer and Juki among others. eBay usually has some at auction both new and used also at a buy it now price. Good luck on your search. I hope you find a good one that suits your purpose.
