I don't understand...why would you have more than 10 TOL and near TOL machines...all from different companies...most of us would have several of various ages...mostly from one or two sewing companies which we prefer. A lot of sewing shops manage contracts with local sewing dealers and therefore have one or maybe two brands...not usually domestic machines. Most of us would never invest (personally) in so many different kinds of machines. What kind of "shop" did you say you owned? I'm sorry to be skeptical, but this is a little odd. Due to investment, costs, most sewing machine dealers wouldn't have so many brands nor would they be able to afford to offer trade-ins and manage to get so many pricy machines. Many of the machines that were traded would be much less expensive (and oven much older) than the new machines. I'm sorry if your husband is ill and I certainly understand liquidating your supply, but I don't understand why you would have this stock.

Beware guys, I was just checking the other forums to which I belong. There are warnings there with links to other forums where they have been scamming people who buy their machines. They accept Western Union but do not send the machines nor do they replay to their e-mails (although they may read and delete them). There are other seamstresses who have purchased the machines but their machines have not been sent. They have been running scams on E-Bay too.

Thank you so much for your warning......this person may have gotten me hook line and sinker.... Here i was really sorry that her husband was ill and she had to close her business then i was excited that she was going to sell a machine to me for 500 then i wondered how is it that she can offer a two year warrenty on a used machine... then i read your post and she sent back an email telling me to pay western union...that was unuasal...i did a little bit more research and found out she does this with electronics...no telling what else she uses just to get folks money.... Mary please remove these posts from this person so that other sewing sisters dont get scamed......this person should be embarrassed to look themselves in the mirror after doing this to people. Jada |

It's too bad that these people don't have the initiative to work for a living but would rather rob widows, pensioners, young married people...anyone of THEIR hard-earned money!!!! Most of us can't afford to invest in the machnine(s) of our dreams and when the opportunity presents itself, we are thrilled to have the opportunity to own something really nice! This is terrible. THey have been reported to the FBI. I hope that they throw the book at them....if they can actually find them in a country where they can..... Too bad they don't hang horse theives anymore...they deserve it!

I am wondering if I should remove these posts. They are showing her how her dishonesty is becoming well known. It may be a lesson to her. Don't post here, the gals are too wise.

personally i think it would be better to keep the posts up, only because with the post deleted, people will never know about this or when on ebay looking, they may remember this and take more caution...too good to be true? usually...also maybe this woman will slowly start to realize that people are on to her, and its probably only a matter of time that the police will be on to her too...i wonder if when shes in jail she'll stop by and post once in awhile... *insert sarcaism here* |

I agree with the kitty... leave the posts up, including all our responses.. I am a moderator on another group ( www.threadstop.com ) and she posted there also.. we promptly deleted her posts and banned her, but now I'm thinking it might have been better to leave her post and members responses.. Interesting that she (if indeed it is a woman) has also done this with electronics... you wonder how many poor unsuspecting people have gotten caught in the snare... The old adage holds true... "If it sounds too good to be true,it probably is!" just my 2 cents... MO life is too short, not to explore

I am not a computer wiz or a police authority so this question may be totally wrong. If it is known that this person is scamming others, is there nothing we can do? No one to contact to try and put an end to her false postings? It is fraud and I can't help but think there has got to be some way to get the authorities involved.

Okay gals and guys here's the latest update on the law on our scum bag scammer posting here!!! According to one of the investigators in our Consumer Protection Division of the Oklahoma Attorney General's office, if any of you have actually ordered from this person, sent her money and not received your merchandise, the only thing you can do is contact your respective Attorney General's office in whatever state you reside in to file a complaint. You can't take legal action against a person or entity based simply on an assumption that they are doing something illegal. The investigator I spoke with told me they have hundreds of complaints about e-bay and various other people allegedly doing business via the internet. His best advice was buyer beware. You need to take the time to check these things out to be sure they're honest and that you are going to actually receive what you're paying for. And, Mary, his advice was that you should ban her because to allow her post to remain inexistence you aiding her in her advertisement even though everyone is giving negative responses. You actually should take all of her posts down but also post something back to the effect that this person is suspected of being a scam artist and all readers should beware, but that is your decision to make. She/he was been banned days ago. My intention was to let other people know what is going on and to beware!

Thanks Mary, I agree that leaving these posts in place will help protect those who might well be tempted with the chance to be able to obtain the sewing machine of their dreams at a price that could still allow them to be able to feed their famlies too.Way too many folks have been hurt by idiots such as this who honestly do not care who they steal from and ebay and other sites sometimes make it very easy for scams to happen to good people. You are wise to leave these messages in place so newbies to the web might be saved from the con artists like these. I am new here and so enjoying the site and the wonderful ladies who have helped me tremendously with all my questions. I just purchased my new embroidery machine today from a reputable dealer and I researched for two weeks before I bought it. I would never get caught in that scam but many others might have. I agree with everyone on leaving the post here. It is the best way to give a heads up to those who would get pulled into this scam. What a shame!!!! Some people work for a living...some steal...Thanks for leaving it up...Ria

I am glad I just read this thread. I am not looking for any more sewing machines at the moment. But I am glad I know none the less. I moderate a sewing group at yahoo and can let them know as well. On scamming on e-bay?? by god that is awful. I buy on e-bay and always try and look at the ratings (feedback). What was the e-bay names when they scammed with electronics? Does anyone know. Thanks Mary for leaving the posts up. This is the best sewing group in the world, I mean that! I am glad we all look out for each other. Scamming people, makes me so mad... Another one almost identical showed up on Martha Pullen this week. (Except the husband wasn't sick).
