I'm having alot of trouble getting this trow done. The fabric keeps puckering up. I marked an x then a + basted the fabric together and began sewing frm center out but the fabrics end up not being even and the space between each row are puckering. I'm not sure if i'm explaining myself. Obviously this is my first atempt to do this throw. Please help me. I had tried using a quilter's tack but the needle left too big of a hole.

Ok, this is probably what is giving you nightmares. Polyester will shift so much that it is very hard to get it to lay flat as when going along it moves. Now there are two things you can do here. Take a 10" square of two cotton fabrics and place your batting in between and find the correct tension and also polyester needs close stitching so be aware of that. The other of course is to use an all cotton batting like Hobbs, Dream Quilters. These are very flat but do a wonderful job and are much easier to sew with.

Also, did you relax your batting before useing it ? Take it out of the pkg, roll or however it came & lay it out flat. Let it relax for overnight or sometimes 24 hrs before useing it. I agree, poly does walk on you. When I use it I baste more than an x. Maybe more than need be but better safe than sorry.
