I have been smiling from ear to ear since i left the shop....plus i get to try it out for one month...if i dont like it i can bring it back....and best of all they have a trade up plan...up to 6 months after you buy your machine you can go in and trade it up for another machine with a full credit of all the money you spent on the first one......

so this one cost me 1100 if i want in 6 months i can trade it in and buy a new one with an 1100 credit.....

i think i just might keep trading up...
or maybe put one on layaway...that 6000 babyloc looked so nice....

I appears that the Winnie The Pooh that i need for comes in the PES format only....will my Palette box convert this so that I can do it on my ellure?

Congrats Jada on your newest toy!!! Prepare to become a total addict and to spend tons of money on thread and stabilizers as well as stuff to embroider on. I'm getting ready to start doing baby things for my niece/god daughter's baby that is due in July. I hope she will let me know boy/girl before long. That sure will help in deciding the colors for quilt, burp pads, etc.

Jada I think the Ellure takes the pes format. If not I'm told the palette converts I don't know but my neice has the palette software and she tells me it converts to other formats.

You maybe able to order them from here. Walmart use to sell the cards for Brother machines I think Babylock are similar. I'd ask your dealer if you can use the Brother cards in your machine. http://www.brothersews.com/html/SearchResult.do?searchparam=winnie+the+pooh&resultpage=http://www.brothersews.com/html/ProductDetails.jsp?categoryid=6&productid=123

My White 3300 came with a Taste of Disney card but one of the sites said one cannot use the Disney cards unless you have a Disney machine..meaning I cannot use the Disney cards other than the one that came with it. Some other Brother, Babylock and Simplicity cards can be used interchangeably among the machines because they are I am told all Brother made including a Bernina..not the newest Bernina. But I was also told by Bernina I could not use their cards in my White. It is rather confusing. This machine does a great job even on plastic coated canvas. I am doing items for 2 new babies coming in the family and my Brother emailed me that his best friend just had a baby and he wants me to make him some baby things with the baby's name monogrammed on it. The machine has some Alphabets built in but the Fonts card is great. Jada you are going to have soooo much fun with your machine. What are you going to make first?

baby items for my sisters baby which is due Arpil 7th....she does not what to know what the sex of the baby is but i already know that it is a boy...so the items with his name on them i wont ship to her until right before the baby is born...well i will be shipping them to my mom (who also does not what to know the sex of the baby) because she has far more control over not opening them...and i want the winnie the pooh to put on some of the other things i am making for her baby shower on March 5th...those can ship because i just brought some white fleece to make a bath mat and bath robes for her so she cant tell the sex from that fabric...

jada.. the format for your Babylock is PES. You will not find legitimate winnie the pooh designs anywhere but on a Brother card...Make sure your machine will take them... Because Brother paid such a premium for Disney designs, they use a lot of encryption so that as far as I know, only Brother machines can use the legitimate Disney designs... I would ask your Babylock dealer just to be sure... btw..the ellure, is the same as either the Brother 6500 or 8500, I can never remember for sure which...

just my 2 cents..

The dealer for Babylock here tells me that the Babylock's are like Ford and Mercury. The Mercury being the top of the line and the Ford being the less in class. I think Brother machines are fine machines but they tell me the Babylock service and quality in workmanship is far superior. This all came from a Babylock dealer so I don't know how true it is but that's what she told me.

Brother makes the Babylock machines... as far as I can determine, the only real difference is in the dealers...BAbylock is supposed to provide better support.. Other than that, as far as I know, there are no differences... maybe somebody else has specific info as to differences, if so I wouldn't mind knowing...

I dont know what the difference is in actually making them...but i do know that with my babylock comes free hands on classes, free monthly meetings forever to teach me how to use my machine and help me with "challanges" that i may have....i also know that the shop i brought it from seamed to know each person by name that walked in...and what kind of machine they owned....i know that the sales person took an hour with me reviewing several machines and showing my DD and I how they work even doing a patch with her name on it....I know that i would not have gotten this with the brother but got it with the Ellure...i also know that if i want in 6 months can trade in my ellure for something else and get the total price paid for my ellure put to my new machine....i can even put the difference of the new machine on lay away today with the intentions of trading in my Ellure in 6 months...and if i hold on to my Ellure to one year I get all of my money minus 300 toward the purchase of a new machine....

Brother just was not offering this to me....

that's exactly the kind of thing that I understand to be the difference between Brother and Babylock... Brother machines tend to be a little less expensive, so I think it kind of comes down to what is more important to each individual person... is lower price more important or is all that support more important...and it can vary with the same person from one machine to another... my embroidery machine is a Brother... since my ult was an upgrade, I didn't really feel that I needed the dealer support... my serger is a Babylock, which I could have gotten from my Brother dealer also, but I knew I needed the extra support with that machine, so I went with the Babylock dealer... The only other major difference, like I said, is the Disney stuff... I'm under the impression that only Brother machines will read the Disney designs, but it would be nice if somebody else who has a babylock embroidery machine would jump in here and confirm or negate that impression...If you can't use Pooh designs in your machine, hopefully you'll be able to find another design that will work almost as well... there are so many neat designs out there...

The Ellure is the same as the Brother PC6500. The PC6500 can only take the taste of Disney card as it is not a Disney machine. I seriously doubt the Ellure can take any Disney cards either. That means that any Pooh designs you find you will either be unable to use or they will be illegal to use. If you want disney you have to have a D Brother machine.
