I am going to be going back home for a quick weekender with my DD (soon to be 2 years old) in June ... was thinking about checkin' out at least one store -

For those who live in the Ottawa area - any good quilting/fabric stores I need to check out? I can't drive too far out ... my dad lives in the southeastern part of the valley (Ottawa south, Gloucester, Greely, Metcalfe, Russell, Embrun, or Limoges).

TIA

There are quite a few quilt shops in the Ottawa area although most that I know of are not in the south end. Here are the ones that I know about around Ottawa:

Quilt Shops
Ottawa South: The Nesting Hen, 1797 Kilborn Ave - never visited this one
Richmond: http://www.thecountryquilter.ca - never visited this one
Orleans: http://www.quiltypleasures.ca/
Ottawa - Westboro Village: http://www.quiltsandseams.com/
Kanata: The Running Stitch, Castlefrank and Hazeldean (no website)

This is a great fabric shop - carry 100% cottons and flannelette
Kanata: Moodie Drive & Robertson: http://www.sewforit.com/

There are some Fabricland stores in the area - carry all kinds of fabrics not just quilting stuff:
one in Orleans near Quilty Pleasures quilt store
one in Kanata across the street from The Running Stitch
one at Baseline and Merivale Road

Hope this helps.

Thank you!!!

I know there was one Fabricland on Walkey Road off Conroy Road (intersection) - that is a road we drive by all the time (Walkey).

Thanks so much - I am going to print it off and save it for my June trip ... Kanata is on the other side of Ottawa but Orleans sounds like a possibility though!

Merci !!!
