I purchased some very fine kingsize fitted sheets for a steal. I want to cut them down to regular / double size. I know how to do this by corners seams, however I notice that most of the sheets I buy these days have a diagnal seam across the end and the bottom of sheets. I am wondering the purpose of making fitted sheets this way and if it is better than corner seams, how would I make fitted sheets that way.
