This is a Harley t-shirt quilt, that I have been working on for 2½ years. I finally have it done. The Harley squares are from my husband's old t-shirts. The embroidered Harley, is a digitalized photo of his 93 Softail If you copy and paste these links you can view the pix. For some reason, it wont let you just click on them. Carolyn, Nice harley Quilt. How many did you put across and down? I am making my DH a church camp quilt out of his old camp shirts. This is how I imagine it to turn out. How wide is your sashing? Super job on it girl~ One of the best gifts to give a child/grandchild is your listening ear.

I have a total of 20 blocks. They were 20 inch blocks. I have 5 across and 4 down (king size bed). The sashings were 5 and 1/4 inches. The border was 11 inches. 5 and 1/2 of orange and 5 and 1/2 of flame. Hope this makes sense. Need any more help, let me know.

Carolyn, Thanks for the great info on your quilt. I should know this answer but is the solid orange block 5 1/4 square? and the sashings 5 1/4 length? Right? Like I said I should know this by looking at it, but Just wanting to make sure before I start cutting mine and it be all wrong! Thanks for your help! Did you stabliize your backs of your t-shirts and if you did with what? I really do appreciate your time. See ya later. One of the best gifts to give a child/grandchild is your listening ear.

Yes, the orange block is 5and 1/4, the sashings are 5 and 1/4 width and length is from one corner to the bottom corner. Which I believe was around 15. I did stablize the t-shirts with iron on stablizer. I used black because my shirts are black. Hope this helps.

Carol - Very nice! My hubby and I each got Harleys last fall. Neither of us ever been on a bike, but love it!! I've been printing pictures on fabric and making Harley pillows, no quilt yet. I did start an Earnhardt tee shirt quilt a few years ago. I have all the shirts cut and ready, now just have to find the time to put them together. Maybe by Rich's bday in July!
