What do you do on a dreary day when you are out of sorts? You know you can't stay like that, it's not healthy.

To cheer myself up I sometimes stop working and sit down with an old movie, or if I can, I get my hair cut. Makes me feel soooooo much better. Also, I am a lipstick freak. I have lots and lots of different shades. Usually just buying one new type can do the trick.

What do you do?

Well, I like an old movie and needlepoint or cross stitch.
A good book works wonders.
Sometimes I go shopping
Sometimes I drink a little wine
Often I sew.

I go back to sleep. On a rainy day like today I like to curl up in bed and nooze the day away. If I can't sleep then watch tv or sew. I'm off to the bed now, Goodnight ladies, and to think I just got up 2 hours ago. :bg: :bolt:

I like to sit down and read a good book, or go to my sewing room and sew. Used to like to knit or crochet.

Well, first I hit my knees.....a little prayer goes a long way to cheering me up! Then I dig through my stash, admiring [and not CUTTING, gasp] my lovely finds.....or pick up a new book....or call a friend that I haven't heard from in awhile....oh, I could go on and on, I'm hardly ever "out of sorts", lol!!!!!!!!

I go out and buy something..week before last it was a concrete Asian lantern. ( I drill'em and wire them for electric lights, myself)
Or I buy something for my sister...clothes, chocolate, dog toys for her dog...

Sometimes I just like to give myself the day off. (like today...I took a nap) and I refused to do house work...

If I've got a "me " day, I can have a long bath, take ages to get dressed, put the 'slap' on. A trip to the hairdressers is normally followed by a trawl around the make up counters. A good old faithful film on the tele ( Pride and prejudice,Little Women, Bodyguard, Ghost - you know the kind of thing) with some knitting and a cup of coffee and choccy biccies. mmmmm.
Generally lazy!
If I'm feeling a bit low I have to do something or I'll sink - so I generally make myself do some cleaning - at least then if I'm still feeling down then the house is better than it was! A good dose of music, either energetic music or a good ole worship tape and I'm generally up again. A good brisk walk to town and back can blow away the cobwebs as well.

Same here allie-oops. Talk with the "Master" and then I sew and I always listen to worship music -- my dh is a singer -- or my most favorite thing, track the dh down for some huggin. Hugs will always make you feel better.

Making myself something really nice to eat does it for a moment. Getting a sewing project out and making some progress always brings a smile to my face. Fighting with the cats while doing it makes me laugh out loud.

I agree with Plrlegal and Magot.
A hug from my husband and just cuddling up on his lap (which has become very hard right now, I don't fit on his lap so well) is wonderful.
Or, a nice long bath, preferrably with bubbles. Our new house has a gas fireplace in the bedroom, so I switch that on, and run a bath, and then when I get out my bedroom is nice and toasty warm and then I read by the fire.
Oh, I love that...... As a matter of fact, that's one of the few things I'm still allowed to do. I think I might just go take another bath right now.

I listen to the classic rock n roll. If I am by myself I play it a little louder than I would with someone else in the house. I dance all around, and I know I look like a fool. Usually after one CD I am in good spirits again.

Moody days, or just plain old bad days. I try to get some sewing done, If that isn't possible it's bed. Usually a nap helps. But most of all reading new quilting books really perk me up. GeriNs :Canada:

Ps this is my first post so I"m not quite use to the posting system.
